Charlie Ollman
Charlie Ollmann- AKA Charlie-O, began his musical career in Milwaukee, performing in the local saloons at age 14. He continued to play, putting himself through St. Olaf College in Northfield, Mn. by playing piano and guitar solo dates in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa. After graduating from college, Charlie taught music in the Forest Lake Minnesota public schools for 5 years. He gave up his teaching career to continue gigging 300 nights a year and to open The Music Connection, a full line music store in Forest Lake with a Yamaha piano showroom in Edina Minnesota.
Since the opening of the music store, Charlie has performed regularly at nightclubs, churches, Dueling Piano venues, colleges, schools, and on riverboats. He has sung the National Anthem for The Twins, Vikings, Gopher Football, Basketball and Baseball. Charlie's 12-string instrumental solo "Waiting" was used often by National Public Radio between stories on the national news program "All Thing Considered."
Charlie's song list ranges from Billy Joel and Elton John on his Yamaha piano, to guitar tunes of Crosby Stills and Nash, The Eagles, and Bob Dylan. Fan favorites include story songs of Harry Chapin, Jimmy Buffet and of course the Charlie O originals. You can findhim in fun venues through out the Twin Cities. In the winter, you may find him thawing out in Key West or Ft. Myers Beach.
